Spontaneous December
Hi, we have put our creative hats on and decided to have a Spontaneous December. Rather than adding more events to the Holiday Season, we are encouraging members of the group to do things with each other, spontaneously, as you would like. Here is the official version:
A Modest Proposal for 2030 Group:
for November and December
- Connect with someone in the group
- Consider what your mission is
- Conceive how being in a community can help
In January we will review our ideas, decide what is important for 20s30s group and budget our time.
Group Dialogue – Part 3
I was just at a meeting with an “organic house church” planter named Desi Starr, who sort of fell into this kind of church work. He said that “the church” is where
- Christ is the head
- We are a family
- We are on mission
I think those three statements could be used to guide the 2030 group. I think of it as “up, in and out”.
He had some other things about their “gatherings” and their one to one meetings. Here are a couple of links www.Lk10.com and www.denverchurch.net

Group Dialogue – Part 2
I like your idea. Looking at our diverse group, I see a great opportunity to challenge one another to think from different angles and learn a lot. We all have a lot to offer to one another and others. So, I see the group as a chance to get inspired and refreshed, and to carry what we’ve gained abroad for the benefit of others.

Group Dialogue – Part 1
Kayla Posted this last week:
My 2030s friends,
I recently put some words on the 20s30s bulletin board that I think represents what 20s30s is about:
Learn. Love. Live.
I challenge you to think of a way to describe 20s30s.
(Our purpose? our activities? our design? our past? our future? .. Get Creative!)
Your reply could be long or short (3 words, a sentence, a short essay, a picture, a quilt, a collage, a poem or even a song!)
When you have crafted your idea. Send it my way!
I look forward to your ideas.
Thanks,
Kayla
October 25
We will eat (as of yet it is a mystery what) after Church on October 25, and then study The Tyranny of the Urgent, part 2.
Read Mark 1:21-39
Habitat for Humanity
Our next event is to help with a Habitat for Humanity work site in the town of Oregon. We will meet at Elizabeth’s place in the town of Oregon at 7:30am on Oct 10 and then go to the work site. Basically come in work clothes, and join in the work/fun. Call the office for details.
Sunday, Sepetember 27
Are you too busy? Do you have to skip things that you know you should to in order to do the things you have to do? We will talk about this “tyranny of the urgent” in our next few Bible Studies.
Join us Sunday, September 27, after the worship service.
We will have Deli Sandwiches, chips and beverages for $2.
We Voted and the results are…
We will use the study guide “The Tyranny of the Urgent” for our first 4 or 5 studies of the year. We meet next on September 27, Sunday, after church.
What is the difference between Urgent and Important?
Music Workshop
We have some young people eager to learn music and learn how to play instruments. I am hoping we can pull together a music workshop – a little basic “how to” on guitar, bass, drum with some encouragement to practice…and food!
contact Pastor Dave if you want to help.
